Sleepy Paso Robles, just down the road is quickly becoming a vineyard and wedding "place to be." California wine country is all about being outdoors. Make good use of rambling oak trees, the California sunshine, a chic outdoor lounge and large selection of wines. If the classic Napa locations are too pricey for you, think Sonoma Valley or Paso.

You'd find it funny that for a non-wine drinker, I've actually been to and lived around a lot of vineyards. I've visited the chianti wine district in Italy, now live near the "up and coming" vineyards of Paso Robles, drive by Tolosa Vineyards all the time in Edna Valley (outside of San Luis), toured the Reims Champagne District and Loire Valley of France and spent 2 years living in wine mega USA- Napa Valley, specifically St. Helena. Tragically with all that, I can't appreciate the fine nuances of wine! The fun for me is reading the label! Yes I'm a dork, I like to enjoy the graphic design, print quality, see where wine is from, and if I've been there.
