During Spring Break Joy and Cade + family had us over for dinner. We were so curious to see how Emma did interacting with other kids slightly older than her. She did just fine, but the real show was seeing Esther almost 2 LOVE Emma. (Sidenote: Esther was and is the cutest baby/toddler ever!) Esther kept giving her toys, and wanting to "touch the baby!"

Esther pulled off Emma's socks and said..."Look! She has toes!" "Look she has a nose..."

"Look Mommy, she has cheeks!"

Thanks for having us over.. it was great to hang out. To see more of these cute kids, retro pictures and fun projects check out their blog here!

When I think of summer, vintage, outdoor weddings, I always picture yellow for some reason. The vintage homemade theme is found of the details of the handmade cookies for favors. The old fashion looking tin cans adds a touch of the whimsical. (The cans look like steel cut oatmeal you can buy at Trader Joe's.) The bridal party fashion gives a nod to the vintage theme with a touch of modern sophistication. Enjoy!

Troy and I recently watched 7 pounds via Netflix. (I know, we are behind the times.. but really, with a little one that goes to bed a 8pm, and a huge projector at home, why would I spend $10 each to go to a theater to sit in uncomfortable seats? OK, enough soap box.) It was an interesting premise and I was looking forward to the letterpress printing bit. I felt they did a great job in their description of what letterpress printing is, using a real treadle, a real vintage press, hand feeding the paper etc. etc. (Welcome to my world.)

Of course the press conveniently had ink already on it, and the type/ plate was already perfectly aligned. (That's totally a lot more work, and ink can't sit on the press more than a few hours, you'd never leave it overnight.) But then they killed it for me when they did a close up of the printed image... AHHH it was a full color print you could get off a laser copier!! I'm sure they had to jazz it up for Hollywood, but really?? You could never print that off a vintage press??!! Oh, well at least they tried. By the way, if Will Smith or anyone could fix a press overnight like that, they'd be my hero too! Oh, that's right Troy does that for me:-) Here's to book arts and letterpress printing!!

Eating paper is the best.

Getting food in my hair is also the best.

I like to scream just because I can.

I like to eat puffs by myself

I
love to try to eat all kinds of dirty stuff like the soles of shoes, the toilet brush and the trash can. It makes Mom and Dad go "yuck!!" I don't know why they don't like it.

(Emma eating puffs and getting herself covered in prunes.. yummy!)

When I do something good I applaud for myself and I'm learning to wave.

I'm a super fast crawler and I can take 3 steps by myself.

I babble a lot, dada, mama, lala, nana

Mirrors are cool.

Mostly I'm just in motion all the time.

Today we take you to Ireland, for this gorgeous real wedding. I love the look of Europe, with it's cobblestone streets, outdoor cafes and histrionic architecture. Ireland has such lush green countrysides, which is oh-so beautiful but also means they have lots of rain. Not some where I'd recommend an outdoor wedding, even in the summer, but they have lots of romantic castles, cathedrals and churches to make up for it! This wedding feels rich in traditional, classic charm and their own sweet personality.

Amazing huh?
So darn cute above!

Don't you love the argle socks?

Thank you Shannon from Riso Studios for sharing this beautiful wedding!
Royal blue and white looks so sharp and crisp. It's oh-so popular on the East Coast, and we here on the West Coast, could stand to see a little more of it! It's perfect for an outdoor, summer wedding! You may also want to check out my New England Preppy post here.

Today I'm so excited to share some gorgeous images from Danielle Gillett. I love the panoramic shot above with the clouds. She herself is newly engaged and you can see more of her work on her blog here.

I got to know Danielle because she was the photographer for one of our brides. Some of her work will be featured in an upcoming edition of The Knot. She is located in the California Bay Area. Thanks for sharing with us Danielle!

Easter weekend, my parents, Sylvia and little brother Greg come to SLO for the weekend. Sylvia is our adoption aunt/ long time family Friend.

We spent the weekend mostly watching Emma play, and hanging out at the beach. No Easter candy for her, but toys instead.

Endless people to play with!

Can you tell this is their first grandchild?

Here we are on the pier at Avila.. it was cool and clear. Getting Emma to look at the camera is next to impossible.

Thanks for coming up Greg, and for driving down Mom, Dad and Sylvia.

Thank you Josie over at PreOwned Wedding Dresses for your lovely letterpress post on Sugar Plum! Thanks so much for your kind words.. we're blushing... B

Today we're happy to share this classic, simply chic wedding at Roche Harbour on San Juan Island in Washington. This two day event, was just a ferry ride from Seattle. Love it. Have a wonderful weekend!
