Traditionally bridesmaids dress are known for just being plain expensive and ugly!! If we were to renew our vows I'd love to buy the girls these dresses below in black. Chic, simple, pretty and you can wear it again!! Love it!

In my imagination I like to think that I can be crafty. But in "real life" it doesn't happen. In the almost 7 years I've had my grandmother's sewing machine, I have yet to break it out for a project. If I had unlimited free time I like to dream I'd do more painting, sewing, paper projects and make my own homemade decorations. Until that happens, here is some crafty inspiration for your holidays...

Nothing in our modern culture is so classically bridal, than a veil. It's a sheer beauty, what we only get to wear one day. Delicate, sweet and completely unique to weddings.

Even though we will be traveling for Christmas this year, I wanted to decorate for Emma. At two and half she is really getting into the holiday thing. Every morning she wants to smell the Christmas tree FIRST THING!! (I'm barely awake.) This year is more fun, she can hang ornaments and decorate as well as enjoy our advent calendar. I'm still loving the birds/ woodland themes. (As Troy will tell you, you put a bird on it and I'll buy it!)
Above is a hand painted Nativity scene I painted at 11 or 12 years old. My mom helped paint the faces. I love the all the imperfections of it!
Above is one of my first oil paintings from earlier this year.. after seeing so many simple modern paintings I decided to try my hand at it. It's not too bad, but it's also not that great. In the foreground is a glitter candles from a few years back, and a handmade Mrs. Claus I made when I was in a sewing kick in Jr. High. Isn't she cute? I think I'm getting less creative the older I get, either that or more lazy!!
I have been a bad blogger as late, knee deep in Christmas projects, decorating, printing and getting gifts ready to mail out!! In the middle of it all we letterpress printed these pretty cards for a client on the East coast, in a soft blush color! Here is more blush inspiration here...
